Zucchini puree is yummy baby food. Let’s say it, finally delicious zucchini. I don’t know how about you, but I love this vegetable. It is sweet and always reminds me of the south of France, which I traveled crisscross.
I was so excited to see my little princess taste this super vegetable and enjoy the wonderful yummy like me.
I also want to share the joy of the new steamer, which I have a wonderful experience with. The pot saves me time and I do not have to worry that the water evaporates and the food gets burnt. I got it from my father-in-law and the food is almost self-made.
However, you can prepare the steamed puree in a classic pot with a metal steamer or a stylish Asian bamboo steamer.
Anyway, I promised you a yummy recipe and here it is.
|Preparation time:||5 minutes|
|Cook time:||20 minutes|
- 1 zucchini (approx. 10 inch)
- 1 tsp rapeseed oil
- 1 cup baby water
- maternity milk (MM) or instant formula (IF)
Peel the zucchini, remove the seeds and cut into same sized cubes. Pour 1cup of baby water into a steaming pot and spread the zucchini across the pot. Steam for about 20 minutes. Zucchini should be beautifully soft.
Put the coocked zucchini into a bowl, add oil and MM or IF. If the puree is thick you can add extra baby water which was condensed after steaming.
Blend all ingredients smoothly with hand mixer or table blender and serve immediately.
The rest of the puree can be stored in the freezer by individual portions, where it lasts up to three months. We can keep one portion in the fridge for the next day.
How did Emily like zucchini puree?
She ate the puree munching and humming. She ate almost the whole portion (approx. 5 teaspoons). I have to admit, even I get my portion of zucchini and both of us, we have enjoyed it a lot.Last update:
